From sunshine to chance of flash floods

With some regret we returned the campervan today. There is so much more of Western Australia I'd have liked to see, especially the northern part which, you'll remember, we had decided not go to, and veered south instead. As it turned out, it was a good decision, as Port Hedland, where we were heading is now being battered by a Category 4 typhoon.

Boring day otherwise, spent at airports and on planes. We've now re-crossed the continent and have arrived in rainy Sydney. God knows this part of the world needs the rain, but the forecast for the next four days is rain, rain, rain, and more rain. Several parts of New South Wales, including Sydney, are being warned of potential flash floods; there may be more than 3 feet of rain when it's all done. We'll make the best of it, I'm certain.

There is a three-hour time difference between Perth and Sydney; it may be difficult to fall asleep.

We have rented a brand new condo for our stay here. It is located in a very modern, sleek building in an area of town called Wolli Creek, on the top floor (12 stories). 2 full bedrooms with private bathrooms, attractive furnishings, and a kick-butt balcony with a great view of Botany Bay.

We checked in at 10PM, local time and, of course, there has been no occasion to take any photos;

I did however manage to get this night view from the balcony, which will have to suffice for the day.
