Exploring the delta of the Parana'.

What a full day! What a terrific day!! Today we took a day-trip to the town of Tigre, situated on the delta of the Rio Parana’. This is where the Parana’ and the Uruguay rivers meet and shed their waters into the Mar de la Plata. It is a region of islands, where the rich from Buenos Aires own their second homes and make their playground. It’s akin to Cape Cod in Massachusetts.

Tigre is an elegant town that can be reached by either car, train or boat. It is a boatman’s paradise.

Here we boarded a cruise boat for a ride in the delta. The day was splendid, the temperature just right, and the ride very enjoyable. Both Diane and I felt quite contented when it was time to head back to our Pampas home.

Once back, we headed into town for dinner and found this amazing retro diner that had such an amazing feel; truly an authentic Argentinian Pampas experience.

As if that wasn’t enough, Nacho had set up my horse (Diane abstained), and took me all over his property for a couple of hours, until sun down. We chatted up a storm during the ride and he enlightened me about Argentinian history. The horses were super gentle, and a neighbor’s dog joined us for the long ride.
